Assessing Your Teenager’s Behavior
There are many influences and circumstances that can have a major impact on your teen. We analyze and assess various areas of social functions, including peers, environment at school, social relationships that include family and emotional maturity.
School Environment:
It’s important that an adolescent maintains and has the desire to achieve excellence in schooling. We would also desire for your teenager to set goals beyond high school and enroll in college. Goals are very important for successful and driven individuals and this gives purpose to their lives. There are some major obstacles in a school environment that could impede teenagers from reaching their desired goals and fulfilling parents’ expectations, including substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety and depression. We want to assist young people in preparing for college life and prepare these young people for positive peer relationships, which will help give them confidence and self-esteem as they move forward in life.
Social Relationships:
We can’t emphasize how important it is to cultivate enduring and healthy friendships with peers who can be trusted and who show respect for themselves and others. Peer influences need to be balanced with other social relationships, such as family and community, that a teenager must develop for their own well-being.
Life at Home:
One of the biggest influences that can impact a young adult is the influence and relationships that are experienced in the home. It has been said that a teenage who can trust their parents and has regular interaction with their parents and siblings has a better chance of abstaining from sexual activity and other negative influences they may encounter from peers. We must evaluate a teenagers’ home life and environment to determine if there is anything that has occurred or may occur that could cause serious or harmful progression towards a fulfilling and rewarding life as a teen. Values, expectations, family strengths and relationships, divorce, adoption and other factors may have a significant impact on a your man or woman’s life.
Emotional Well-Being:
Often a teenager’s behavior is a reflection of their own particular emotional state. Frequently, teenagers struggle, act out and make poor decisions because of some issue they have difficult reasoning with or resolving. This is why it’s so important that we evaluate and assess a teenagers’ emotional and psychological development so as to discover the real source of the problems and find solutions in overcoming them.
